关于本章
The surah opens with Ha Mim and an oath by the clear Book, saying the Quran was made Arabic so that people may understand. It criticizes those who acknowledge God as Creator yet attribute daughters to Him and make the angels female. It rejects the excuse “we are following our forefathers,” recalling Abraham, who disowned his people's worship. Worldly wealth is set against God's mercy: God could have given disbelievers roofs of silver and ornaments of gold, but such things are only the enjoyment of this life. The surah then tells how Pharaoh mocked Moses for having no golden bracelets and was drowned with his people, and speaks of Jesus, the son of Mary, as a servant favored by God and an example for the Children of Israel. It ends with the Day when close friends become enemies, except the God-fearing, and with scenes of the Garden and of Hell.
- Following ancestors blindly
- Worldly wealth and gold
- Moses and Pharaoh
- Jesus son of Mary
- Friends turned enemies
章名由来 It is named after the ornaments of gold mentioned in verse 35, which God says He could have given to disbelievers.

-
1
Ha Mim.
-
2
By the clear Book!
-
3
We have made it an Arabic Quran so that you may understand.
-
4
And it is, in the Mother of the Book with Us, exalted and full of wisdom.
-
5
Should We then withhold the Reminder from you, turning away, because you are a people who go beyond bounds?
-
6
How many a prophet did We send among the earlier peoples!
-
7
But no prophet came to them without their mocking him.
-
8
So We destroyed those mightier in power than these, and the example of the earlier peoples has gone before.
-
9
Should you ask them who created the heavens and the earth, they would certainly reply, "They were created by the Almighty, the All-Knowing,"
-
10
He who made the earth a cradle for you and made pathways for you in it, so that you may find your way,
-
11
and who sends down water from the sky in due measure, with which We revive a dead land. Thus you will be brought forth.
-
12
And He created all the pairs, and made for you ships and livestock on which you ride,
-
13
so that you may settle firmly on their backs, then remember the favor of your Lord when you are settled on them, and say, "Glory be to Him who has made this subservient to us, for we could never have done it [ourselves].
-
14
And to our Lord we will surely return."
-
15
Yet they have assigned to Him a portion from His own servants. Man is clearly ungrateful.
-
16
Or has He taken daughters from what He creates and favored you with sons?
-
17
Yet when one of them is given news of [a daughter], the likeness of which he attributes to the Most Gracious, his face darkens and he is filled with grief.
-
18
[Do they attribute to Him] one who is brought up among ornaments and is not clear in argument?
-
19
And they have made the angels, who are servants of the Most Gracious, females. Did they witness their creation? Their testimony will be recorded, and they will be questioned.
-
20
And they say, "Had the Most Gracious willed, we would not have worshipped them." They have no knowledge of that; they only guess.
-
21
Or did We give them some Book before this one, which they cling to?
-
22
Rather, they say, "We found our forefathers on a certain path, and we are rightly guided in following their tracks."
-
23
And likewise, We did not send before you any warner to a town without its affluent ones saying, "We found our fathers following a way, and we are following in their footsteps."
-
24
He said, "Even if I brought you better guidance than what you found your fathers following?" They said, "We disbelieve in what you have been sent with."
-
25
So We took retribution on them. Then see what the end was of those who denied.
-
26
Recall when Abraham told his father and his people, "I have nothing to do with what you worship,
-
27
except Him who created me, for He will guide me."
-
28
And he made it a word enduring among his descendants, so that they might return.
-
29
But I gave these [people] and their fathers enjoyment until the truth came to them and a clear messenger.
-
30
Yet when the truth reached them, they said, "This is magic, and we reject it."
-
31
They also said, "If only this Quran had been revealed to some important man from one of the two towns!"
-
32
Is it they who distribute the mercy of your Lord? It is We who have distributed among them their livelihood in the life of this world, and raised some of them above others in rank, so that some may employ others in service. And the mercy of your Lord is better than what they amass.
-
33
Were it not that mankind would become one community [in disbelief], We would have made for those who disbelieve in the Most Gracious roofs of silver for their houses, and stairways by which to ascend,
-
34
and doors for their houses, and couches on which to recline,
-
35
and ornaments of gold. Yet all that is nothing but the enjoyment of the life of this world, while the Hereafter with your Lord is for the God-fearing.
-
36
Whoever turns a blind eye to the remembrance of the Most Gracious, We assign to him a devil, who becomes his companion.
-
37
And they surely bar them from the way, while they think they are guided,
-
38
until, when he comes to Us, he says, "Would that there were between me and you the distance between the two easts! What an evil companion!"
-
39
[It will be said], "It will not benefit you this Day, since you did wrong, that you are sharing in the punishment."
-
40
Can you make the deaf hear, or guide the blind and one who is in clear error?
-
41
Whether We take you away, We will surely take retribution on them,
-
42
or We show you what We have promised them, We surely have full power over them.
-
43
Hold firmly, then, to what is revealed to you, for you are upon a straight path.
-
44
And it is surely a reminder for you and your people, and you will all be questioned.
-
45
And ask those of Our messengers whom We sent before you: did We ever appoint gods besides the Most Gracious to be worshipped?
-
46
To Pharaoh and his nobles We once sent Moses with Our signs. He told them, "I am a messenger sent by the Lord of all the worlds."
-
47
Yet when he brought them Our signs, at once they began laughing at them.
-
48
Every sign We showed them was greater than the one before it, and We seized them with punishment so that they might return.
-
49
And they said, "O sorcerer, call upon your Lord for us by the covenant He has made with you; we will surely be guided."
-
50
But when We removed the punishment from them, at once they broke their word.
-
51
And Pharaoh proclaimed among his people, saying, "O my people, is not the kingdom of Egypt mine, and these rivers flowing beneath me? Do you not see?
-
52
Am I not superior to this wretched man, who can barely make himself understood?
-
53
Why then have bracelets of gold not been bestowed on him, or angels come with him as companions?"
-
54
Thus he swayed his people, and they obeyed him. They were truly a defiantly disobedient people.
-
55
So when they provoked Us, We took retribution on them and drowned them all.
-
56
And We made them a precedent and an example for later peoples.
-
57
And when the son of Mary was presented as an example, at once your people raised an outcry over it,
-
58
and said, "Are our gods better, or is he?" They cited him to you only for argument. Rather, they are a contentious people.
-
59
He was only a servant upon whom We bestowed favor, and We made him an example for the Children of Israel.
-
60
Had We willed, We could have made from you angels succeeding [one another] on the earth.
-
61
And he is surely a sign of the Hour, so do not doubt it, and follow me. This is a straight path.
-
62
And do not let Satan bar you [from it]. He is to you a clear enemy.
-
63
When Jesus came with clear proofs, he said, "I have come to you with wisdom, and to make clear to you some of that in which you differ. So be mindful of God and obey me.
-
64
God is the Lord of us all — mine and yours — so serve Him; that is a straight way."
-
65
But the factions differed among themselves. So woe to those who did wrong, from the punishment of a painful Day!
-
66
Are they waiting for anything but the Hour, that it should come upon them suddenly while they do not perceive?
-
67
Close friends will on that Day be enemies to one another, except the God-fearing.
-
68
"O My servants, there is no fear for you this Day, nor will you grieve,
-
69
you who believed in Our signs and were Muslims.
-
70
Enter the Garden, you and your spouses, rejoicing."
-
71
Platters of gold and goblets will be passed around among them, and there will be whatever souls desire and eyes delight in. And you will remain there forever.
-
72
That is the Garden which you have been made to inherit because of what you used to do.
-
73
There you will have abundant fruit, of which you will eat.
-
74
The guilty will remain forever in the punishment of Hell.
-
75
It will not be eased for them, and they will be in despair in it.
-
76
We did not wrong them; rather, it was they who were the wrongdoers.
-
77
And they will call out, "O Malik, let your Lord put an end to us!" He will say, "You will remain."
-
78
"We certainly brought you the truth, but most of you were averse to the truth."
-
79
Or have they settled upon some plan? Then We too are settling [Ours].
-
80
Or do they think that We do not hear their secrets and their private conversations? Yes, [We do], and Our messengers are with them, recording.
-
81
Say, "If the Most Gracious had a son, I would be the first of [his] worshippers."
-
82
Glory be to the Lord of the heavens and the earth, the Lord of the Throne, above what they describe!
-
83
So leave them to indulge in idle talk and play until they meet their Day which they are promised.
-
84
It is He who is God in the heaven and God on the earth. He is the All-Wise, the All-Knowing.
-
85
Blessed be He who owns the sovereignty of the heavens and the earth and everything between them. The knowledge of the Hour is His, and back to Him you will be brought.
-
86
And those they call upon besides Him have no power of intercession, except those who bear witness to the truth knowingly.
-
87
If you ask them who created them, they will surely say, "God." So how are they deluded?
-
88
And [God knows] his saying, "O my Lord, these are a people who do not believe."
-
89
So pardon them and say, "Peace." Soon they will know.
