🔥 The Story of Abraham in the Quran
In the Quran, Abraham is called a man of truth and a prophet, upright in faith, and the one God took as an intimate friend. His story is not told in a single place but is spread across many chapters, including 2, 6, 14, 19, 21 and 37.
The story begins among a father and a people who worship idols. Watching a star, the moon and the sun rise and set, Abraham turns his face to the One who originated the heavens and the earth, and he pleads with his father not to worship what neither hears nor sees. He breaks his people's idols and is thrown into a fire, but God commands the fire to be coolness and safety for Abraham.
Later Abraham sets out towards his Lord and prays for a righteous child, and he is tested by a dream in which he sacrifices his son, until God calls out that he has fulfilled the vision. Other passages tell of the guests who bring good news of Isaac and Jacob, and of Abraham raising the foundations of the House with Ishmael and praying for his descendants. The verses below follow the story of Abraham as the Quran tells it.
