この章について
Classed as a Meccan sura, it opens by calling the Quran guidance and good news for the believers, and briefly tells how Moses, drawn to a fire, is called and given the signs of the staff and the shining hand. The longest part is the story of Solomon. Taught the speech of birds, he leads an army of jinn, humans and birds, and on hearing an ant warn the others to take shelter he smiles and prays to be grateful. The hoopoe brings news of a queen in Sheba whose people worship the sun; Solomon sends her a letter, has her throne brought to him, and she finally submits to God together with Solomon. The stories of Salih and Thamud and of Lot follow. The later verses repeatedly ask who it is that created the heavens and the earth and answers the one in distress, then describe a creature brought out of the earth and the Day the Trumpet is blown. It closes with praise of God.
- Signs given to Moses
- Solomon and the ant
- The queen of Sheba
- Who is the Creator?
- The Day of the Trumpet
名前の由来 The name comes from verse 18, where an ant warns the others to go into their dwellings so that Solomon's army will not crush them.

1
Ta Sin. These are the verses of the Quran and of a Book that makes things clear,
-
2
a guidance and good news for the believers,
-
3
who keep up the prayer and give the alms (zakat), and who are certain of the Hereafter.
-
4
As for those who do not believe in the Hereafter, We have made their deeds seem fair to them, so they wander blindly.
-
5
They are the ones for whom there is the worst punishment, and in the Hereafter they will be the greatest losers.
-
6
And you are surely receiving the Quran from the presence of One who is All-Wise, All-Knowing.
-
7
[Remember] when Moses said to his family, “I have caught sight of a fire. I will bring you some news from it, or bring you a burning brand so that you may warm yourselves.”
-
8
When he came to it, a voice called out: “Blessed is whoever is in the fire and whoever is around it, and glory be to God, Lord of all the worlds.
-
9
Moses, it is I — God, the Almighty, the All-Wise.
-
10
Throw down your staff.” When he saw it writhing as though it were a darting snake, he turned his back in flight and did not look back. “Moses, do not be afraid. In My presence the messengers have nothing to fear,
-
11
except one who has done wrong and then replaced evil with good — for I am Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.
-
12
And put your hand into the opening of your garment; it will come out white, without any blemish. [These are] among nine signs to Pharaoh and his people. They have truly been a defiant people.”
-
13
But when Our signs came to them, plain to see, they said, “This is clear sorcery.”
-
14
They denied them out of wrongdoing and arrogance, though their own souls were certain of them. So see what the end of those who spread corruption was.
-
15
We gave knowledge to David and Solomon, and they said, “Praise be to God, who has favored us above many of His believing servants.”
-
16
Solomon succeeded David, and he said, “People, we have been taught the speech of birds, and we have been given something of everything. This is indeed a clear favor.”
-
17
Gathered before Solomon were his hosts of jinn, humans, and birds, and they were kept in ordered ranks,
-
18
until, when they came upon the valley of the ants, an ant said, “Ants, go into your dwellings, so that Solomon and his hosts do not crush you without realizing it.”
-
19
He smiled, laughing at her words, and said, “My Lord, inspire me to be grateful for Your blessing which You have bestowed on me and on my parents, and to do righteous deeds that please You, and admit me by Your mercy among Your righteous servants.”
-
20
He inspected the birds and said, “Why do I not see the hoopoe? Or is it among the absent?
-
21
I will surely punish it severely, or slaughter it, unless it brings me a clear justification.”
-
22
But it did not stay away long, and it said, “I have learned something you have not learned, and I have come to you from Sheba with sure news.
-
23
I found a woman ruling over them. She has been given something of everything, and she has a magnificent throne.
-
24
I found her and her people bowing down to the sun instead of God. Satan has made their deeds seem fair to them and turned them away from the path, so they are not guided,
-
25
so that they do not bow down to God, who brings out what is hidden in the heavens and the earth, and knows what you conceal and what you disclose.
-
26
God — there is no god but Him, Lord of the mighty Throne.”
-
27
[Solomon] said, “We shall see whether you have told the truth or are one of the liars.
-
28
Take this letter of mine and drop it down to them, then withdraw from them and see what they send back.”
-
29
She said, “Chiefs, a noble letter has been delivered to me.
-
30
It is from Solomon, and it reads: ‘In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
-
31
Do not exalt yourselves above me, but come to me in submission.’”
-
32
She said, “Chiefs, advise me in this matter of mine. I never decide on any matter until you are present with me.”
-
33
They said, “We possess strength and great might, but the command is yours, so consider what you will command.”
-
34
She said, “When kings enter a town, they ruin it and make the most honored of its people the most humiliated. That is what they do.
-
35
I shall send them a gift instead, and wait to see what the messengers return with.”
-
36
When [the envoy] came to Solomon, he said, “Would you supply me with wealth? What God has given me is better than what He has given you. No, it is you who delight in your gift.
-
37
Go back to them. We will surely come upon them with hosts they cannot withstand, and we will drive them out from there humiliated and brought low.”
-
38
He said, “Chiefs, which of you will bring me her throne before they come to me in submission?”
-
39
A powerful one among the jinn said, “I will bring it to you before you rise from your place. I am strong enough for it and trustworthy.”
-
40
One who had knowledge from the Book said, “I will bring it to you before your glance returns to you.” When [Solomon] saw it set firmly before him, he said, “This is from the favor of my Lord, to test me whether I am grateful or ungrateful. Whoever is grateful is grateful for his own good, and whoever is ungrateful — my Lord is Self-Sufficient, Generous.”
-
41
He said, “Disguise her throne for her; let us see whether she recognizes it or is one of those who are not guided.”
-
42
When she came, she was asked, “Is your throne like this?” She said, “It is as though it were the same.” [Solomon said,] “We were given knowledge before her, and we had submitted [to God].”
-
43
What she used to worship besides God had held her back, for she was of a disbelieving people.
-
44
She was told, “Enter the palace.” When she saw it, she thought it was a pool of deep water and bared her legs. He said, “It is a palace paved smooth with glass.” She said, “My Lord, I have wronged myself, and I submit, together with Solomon, to God, Lord of all the worlds.”
-
45
And We sent to Thamud their brother Salih, [saying,] “Worship God.” But then they became two factions quarreling with each other.
-
46
He said, “My people, why do you seek to hasten the evil before the good? Why do you not ask God for forgiveness, so that you may receive mercy?”
-
47
They said, “We take you and those with you as a bad omen.” He said, “Your omen lies with God. Rather, you are a people being put to the test.”
-
48
In the city there were nine men who spread corruption in the land and did not set things right.
-
49
They said, “Swear to one another by God that we will fall upon him and his household by night, then say to his next of kin, ‘We did not witness the destruction of his household, and we are telling the truth.’”
-
50
They devised a plot, and We devised a plan, while they did not perceive it.
-
51
So see what the outcome of their plotting was: We destroyed them and their people, all together.
-
52
Those are their houses, lying empty because of the wrong they did. In that is surely a sign for people who know.
-
53
And We saved those who believed and were mindful of God.
-
54
And [We sent] Lot, when he said to his people, “Do you commit this obscenity while you see [its foulness]?
-
55
Do you really approach men with desire instead of women? No, you are a people acting in ignorance.”
-
56
But the only answer of his people was that they said, “Drive the family of Lot out of your town. They are people who keep themselves pure!”
-
57
So We saved him and his family, except his wife; We decreed that she would be among those who stayed behind.
-
58
And We poured down on them a rain — how evil was the rain of those who had been warned!
-
59
Say, “All praise is God's, and peace be on those servants of His whom He has chosen.” Which is better, God or the partners they set up [with Him]?
-
60
Or who is it that created the heavens and the earth and sends down water for you from the sky, with which We cause gardens full of beauty to grow, whose trees you could never cause to grow? Is there a god besides God? No, they are a people who set up equals [to Him].
-
61
Or who is it that made the earth a firm place to settle, set rivers flowing through it, placed firm mountains upon it, and put a barrier between the two seas? Is there a god besides God? No, most of them do not know.
-
62
Or who is it that answers the one in distress when he calls upon Him, and removes the harm, and makes you successors on the earth? Is there a god besides God? Little do you take heed!
-
63
Or who is it that guides you through the darkness of land and sea, and who sends the winds as good news ahead of His mercy? Is there a god besides God? Exalted is God far above what they associate [with Him].
-
64
Or who is it that begins creation and then repeats it, and who provides for you from the sky and the earth? Is there a god besides God? Say, “Bring your proof, if you are truthful.”
-
65
Say, “No one in the heavens or on the earth knows the unseen except God, and they do not know when they will be raised up.”
-
66
Rather, their knowledge of the Hereafter has failed them. Rather, they are in doubt about it. Rather, they are blind to it.
-
67
Those who disbelieve say, “When we and our fathers have become dust, will we really be brought out [again]?
-
68
We were promised this before, we and our fathers. This is nothing but tales of the ancients.”
-
69
Say, “Travel through the land and see what the end of the wrongdoers was.”
-
70
Do not be saddened on their account, and do not let their scheming weigh on you.
-
71
And they say, “When will this promise be [fulfilled], if you are truthful?”
-
72
Say, “It may be that part of what you are so eager to hasten is right on your heels.”
-
73
Your Lord is indeed full of bounty toward people, but most of them are not grateful.
-
74
And your Lord surely knows what their hearts conceal and what they disclose.
-
75
There is nothing hidden in the heavens or on the earth that is not in a clear Record.
-
76
This Quran relates to the Children of Israel most of what they differ about.
-
77
And it is truly a guidance and a mercy for the believers.
-
78
Your Lord will judge between them by His judgement. He is the Almighty, the All-Knowing.
-
79
So put your trust in God; you are surely upon the clear truth.
-
80
You cannot make the dead hear, nor can you make the deaf hear the call when they turn their backs and go away.
-
81
Nor can you guide the blind out of their straying. You can make none hear except those who believe in Our signs and so submit [to God].
-
82
When the word [of judgement] comes to pass against them, We will bring out for them a creature from the earth that will speak to them, [saying] that people had no certain faith in Our signs.
-
83
And [on] the day We gather from every community a troop of those who denied Our signs, and they will be driven in ranks,
-
84
until, when they come, He will say, “Did you deny My signs without grasping them in knowledge? Or what was it you were doing?”
-
85
And the word will come to pass against them because of the wrong they did, and they will not speak.
-
86
Do they not see that We made the night for them to rest in, and the day to give sight? In that are surely signs for people who believe.
-
87
And [on] the day the Trumpet is blown, all who are in the heavens and all who are on the earth will be terrified, except those God wills, and all will come to Him humbled.
-
88
You see the mountains and think them firmly fixed, yet they pass by as the clouds pass. [Such is] the work of God, who has perfected everything. He is fully aware of what you do.
-
89
Whoever comes with a good deed will have better than it, and they will be secure from the terror of that day.
-
90
And whoever comes with an evil deed — their faces will be flung into the Fire. [It will be said,] “Are you being repaid for anything but what you used to do?”
-
91
[Say,] “I have only been commanded to worship the Lord of this city, who made it sacred and to whom everything belongs. And I have been commanded to be one of those who submit (Muslims),
-
92
and to recite the Quran.” So whoever is guided is guided only for his own good; and whoever goes astray, say, “I am only one of the warners.”
-
93
And say, “All praise is God's. He will let you see His signs, and you will know them.” Your Lord is never unmindful of your deeds.
