この章について
The surah opens with praise of God, to whom everything in the heavens and earth belongs and from whom not even an atom's weight is hidden, and it rejects the claim that the Hour will not come. It then turns to David, with whom the mountains and birds echoed praise and for whom iron was made soft, and to Solomon, who was given command of the wind and of jinn who worked for him, and whose death was revealed only when a creature gnawed through his staff. Next comes the people of Sheba, who had two gardens but turned away in ingratitude and lost them to the flood of the dam. The later part addresses the powerlessness of those worshipped besides God, the arrogant and the oppressed blaming each other at judgment, and the fact that wealth and children do not bring anyone nearer to God. It ends with a call to stand up for God, alone or in pairs, and reflect, and the declaration that the truth has come.
- David and Solomon
- The flood of Sheba
- Gratitude and ingratitude
- Limits of wealth
- Reflection on the truth
名前の由来 It is named after the people of Sheba, whose two gardens and loss through ingratitude are told in verses 15–19.
